The project began with an internal notification from a Program Director sharing the news that a long-term participant, Matthew Giblin, had successfully graduated from his program. While the staff was elated, the initial information was internal and congratulatory. My goal was to translate this milestone into a narrative that was public-facing.
Sharing content like this is essential because it allows families, potential participants, funders, and donors to see the high-quality work the organization is doing to support participants.
The Strategy
I acted as a brand storyteller to highlight the impact of the program:
- Narrative Development: I worked with the program staff to identify the key milestones of Matthew’s journey. I focused on the graduation as a symbol of the end-to-end support provided, moving beyond clinical care to celebrate personal achievement.
- Human-AI Hybrid Workflow: I used AI to help synthesize the raw details of the journey into a structural first draft. I then manually edited the copy to infuse it with the authentic RHD voice, ensuring the tone was respectful, celebratory, and aligned with our brand values.
- Optimized for Retention: I kept the copy concise and easy to read. I used clear headings and a scannable format to ensure the core message was delivered quickly to digital readers.
- Multi-Platform Distribution: Once the narrative was polished, I managed the rollout across our monthly newsletter and social media channels to maximize visibility and reinforce brand trust with our stakeholders.
The Impact
The story served as powerful "Social Proof" for the organization. By highlighting a tangible graduation, we provided a clear look at the success of our programs, building confidence with families and donors through transparent, success-based storytelling.

We are thrilled to celebrate one of our outstanding participants, Matthew Giblin, who graduated with his Associate’s Degree in Legal Studies on May 19, 2025! Matthew has been an active and dedicated member of our RHD Delaware Kent ACT 2 program since 2012, and his journey exemplifies the transformative power of perseverance and support.
